Dr P A Saul (male) MB ChB DRCOG (Qualified Manchester 1968)
Dr Saul is the senior partner and is on the maternity, child health surveillance and minor surgery lists, holds the family planning certificate and his particular interests are minor surgery and cardiovascular.

Dr I G V James (male) MB ChB DRCOG DCH (Qualified Manchester 1974)
Dr James is on the maternity, child health surveillance and minor surgery lists, holds the family planning certificate and his particular interests are child health and geriatrics.

Dr I G A M Sidat (male) MB ChB MRCP(UK) MRCGP (Qualified Zimbabwe 1985)
Dr Sidat is on the maternity, child health surveillance and minor surgery lists and his particular interests are elderly medicine, cardiology, psychiatry and diabetes.

Practice Manager

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the surgery, organisation and supervision of staff, administration and secretarial duties, the practice manager is available to discuss any administrative or non-medical problems, suggestions or complaints. Please ask for a copy of our practice complaints procedure.

Secretarial/Administration

Here referral letters to consultants for appointments are typed and general secretarial and admin support is provided. The staff here are also responsible for maintaining up-to-date computer information.

Senior Receptionist

Responsible for supervision of work undertaken by reception staff associated with appointments, prescriptions and general clerical duties.

Receptionists

They are the first point of contact for patients and will deal with enquiries about appointments and other aspects of the practice's services.

Nurse Practitioner

Our nurse practitioner is available 8.30 - 5:00pm Monday-Friday and is able to diagnose and prescribe.

Practice Nurse

The practice nurse helps to run health promotion and immunisation clinics and provides general nursing care.

Health Visitor

This is a qualified nurse who works in the community with your family doctor and is notified of the birth of all babies. She will visit you at home or the surgery. Your health visitor can be contacted by telephoning Bolton 463408 on weekdays between 9.00 - 10.00am.


District Nurses

They are available for home nursing care when necessary and also for general nursing advice. They can be contacted through the Avondale Health Centre on Bolton 463411.

Midwives

A team of midwives work together both in the maternity unit and in the community to provide continuing care for mothers, babies and their families.
